MGOM

ive been looking up on why the reasoning that people hate eachother and can't get along. I've refined  it by focusing it on the reasons why people are narrow minded and can't get along. I've shared this with my friends verbally but not through technology. I have a similar topic to the a student of yours in another class edmundo "stud " Cortez. I tend to present my work with technology I'm not sure how.

We eat social media for breakfast

What the essays main arguement is claiming is that we use the internet just like how we use paper and how it's the next evolutionary step. It's not just a tool it's much more than that it's how we stay in touch with each other. The internet has changed the way this generation and the past generation did simple things like taking pictures. The internet is probably the most important adaptation of our time. We use it for research, staying in touch with people, and anything else you want. It's the tool that nowadays we don't use it to our advantage. We have the power to look up anything and learn it online or to find out things within a couple seconds of a google search. The tone of the author is basically trying to tell us that we have a powerful tool that we can use anytime. We have all these social media apps that we use to communicate and talk from a long distance. Simple things like taking a picture in the past took multiple steps and nowadays you can take

Digital divide

I stand that the ability to not having internet and having it is kinda bs cause it's everywhere nowadays and it's free most places. I think it depends on you and how you use the internet you could either use it to help you achieve your goals with research and reaching out to professionals or use it to distract you and never getting anything done. My data is currently i don't know if it's protected nor unprotected. I looked myself up and I couldn't find myself just a bunch of old people.

Essay (option 1)

The difference in tone for Clarisse and montag is completely different due to them standing out to everyone else in society. It's noticeable when the first scene is montag burning books but he's like pretending to be happy doing his job.  Another example would be when Clarisse talks about how she's treated by other kids and how society looks at her. Montag wants to be like Clarisse and have a caring family like hers.  The first scene showed to us by Bradbury is montag burning books in a society where firemen start fires and burn books. This paints a dark society Image in our mind. Montag shows a sign of what's to come in the first scene where he's burning a book happy. When he goes to his home he runs into Clarisse who makes him question his whole outlook on life by telling him how "in the old days " it was much more different.  When they both talk Bradbury's diction shows us that they actually are human and have souls because when other characters

Questions pg 148-158.

1) they all laughed because that phrase is overused and played out and also cause literally they're books cause they remember them by memory. 2) montag still cares about Mildred because he's a decent person who actually cares and feels. Bradbury wants us to know that montag is a actual caring person no matter how Mildred turned her in and doesn't really feel anything towards montag, he still cares about her which shows what kind of person he is. 3) the hands of grangers grandfather sculpted and made toys for others , his hands affected other people's lives. Mildred's hands show nothing cause she's never done anything for montag or anybody else but herself. 4)there's nothing special about the books it's the words on the books that make them special.grangers grandfather was nothing special but what he did made him special his sculptures and the toys he made for others. 5) three seconds is all of the time in history because that's when the bomb drop

A step ahead of the hound

1)he left books there and made sure the wife was asleep and safe. 2)Faber describes the war as convenient as all the things that's happening to montag and faber. 3) his tv shows a hound they brought in from a different district and how it's going to hunt guy montag. 4)the hound was on tv it was being hovered by a helicopter so everyone can see the hound kill montag. 5)montag was on the run from the hound and the helicopter as everyone opened their doors and looked for montag.

The chase is on

1) the hound attacked montag because of the books and the crime he's committed and also cause he burned montag alive. 2) montag defended himself by burning the hound with a flamethrower. 3) montag realized that he never meant to kill him and it was just he finally snapped. 4)montag went to a gas station and used the restroom to cleaned himself up. 5) montag almost got killed by a group of kids in a beetle and they swerved almost killing him. Then he wonders if they're the ones who killed Clarisse and he gets angry.

Montag kills

montag killed Beatty because I feel like Beatty pushed montag to his limits and he couldn't take anymore. Montag finally snapped and he didn't want to risk professor fabers life after all he's done for him.

451 questions

1)montag wants to find what's so special about the books and whats all the fuss about it while Mildred doesn't wanna get caught and just wants to burn them. 2)when he thinks of the bombers flying when Mildred had a od but now there's actual bombers flying over. 3)professor faber is an old guy who meets montag at the park and has great knowledge about the past and books. 4)he breaks down and he keeps hearing it in his head and he feels like he's going crazy. 5)that books can make you feel a certain way after reading them and they have knowledge 6)the small green object is like a little walkie talkie that goes in his ear 7) 8)she cries because what montag read was poetry and she doesn't understand how words from a book are making her feel a certain way

So far

So far I've only read to page 73 and what I've gotten is that montags trying to read the books with his wife but she's scared of being caught by chief beatty. She's afraid they will get their house and belongings burned down and all thrown away just for some books.

451 questions

1) starting a book like that was new at the time taking place in a society where they burn books instead of reading them. It' grabs the readers attention. 2)they're compared to birds because they are free like books and rare. 3) Clarisse is a 17 year old girl who goes questioning everything she's different she acts like how they used to act before the society got all messed up. Montag is a fireman but he's different cause he has a book hidden in his house and he actually likes Clarisse. 4)it's crazy how the invention of earbuds were a thing in this novel and their life is depressing the technology doesn't help they're both unhappy and it's just like a dark mood inside his home. 5) the author introduces us to montag to show how Clarisse impacts his life and makes him question society and makes him realize how the past was. 6)Clarisse is the character that's different and has an impact on montag life compared to his wife Mildred who's like a m

F451 questions

1) it's a pretty dark futuristic messed up society where firemen start fires instead of putting it out. It's similar because no really reads novels today compared to the huge percentage that's brainwashed by tv. Also they burn books to conceal the truth from the other people. It's a dystopia because the way the author uses imagery to describe it as a dark post apocolyptic. 2) she's innocent and asks questions like everyone at a young age would. She knows the truth of why billboards are way bigger and how her experiences with the law. Like her grandpa got arrested for driving slow and enjoying the view. She's our perspective in the story. 3)the hounds purpose is to protect montag.

Short story

So we have a story of a young boy named Kevin who is new to a school in California and he just came from Minnesota. He shows up to his first day confused and lost because he's the new kid at school. So basically he's eating lunch by himself in the cafeteria. He realizes that he doesn't fit with any of the groups of kids at school so he tries fitting in by being someone he's not.so he tries fitting in  with all the kids who are into sports but that didn't work out. So next he tried being with all the skater kids but that failed too because he didn't even know how to use a skateboard. After he continued looking for a group trying to fit in with. As the days passed he gave up and then realized that there is others  like him trying to fit in and then he didn't have to look at all. So he made a new group of friends who were like him and they live happily ever after.  It relates to modernism by being confused and different compared to everyone else.

What I see in literature

-The yellow fog that rubs its back upon the window panes.               -And I have seen the eternal Footman hold my coat, and snicker -I should have been a pair of ragged claws Scuttling across the floors of silent seas This explains the theme of the of prufrock by explains how his desire for women and never achieving the goal of never getting a girl. He talks about the yellow fog rubbing its back on the yellow window panes and always surrounding him. Then seeing the eternal footman holding his coat which represents death shows how he feels about himself. There's also another one where he says he measures his life in coffee spoons which represents the theme of his failure of finding a women interested in him so it's sad how he can measure it in coffee spoons. The story is called a love song but in reality it's the opposite, it's a dark sad story of a guy who's actually lonely.

Prufrock

My first impression is that this really isn't a love story and if it is, it's a twisted one. I find it interesting how this guy who's aging beats himself up for never being good enough. He talks about how he can imagine the girls but he never imagine them being attracted to him. The fact that he can measure his life in coffee spoons describes what kind of person he is. As we continue reading we find out that death is just waiting and snickering on this miserable soul. At the end he's misunderstood because he pours out his feelings to this girl and the girl misunderstood him and she's like" no That's not what I meant at all". That must've made him feel broken and he just can't take it anymore.

A day without immigrants

I didn't show up to school like my fellow classmates to show the school what would happen if there was no immigrants. 7,000+ didn't show up today in Santa Maria that's a huge number. It's crazy how many people closer their businesses for the day and restaurants. My whole family stayed home and just watched the news and see how in other areas they protested.

Gatsby chapter 6 notes

-gatsbys name used to be james gatz -he attended college at st Olaf in southern Minnesota -gatsby fell in love with the rich lifestyle -Cody was a huge mentor and inspiration for gatsby -once Cody died he left gatsby $25,000 but he didn't inherit it due to problems with cody's wife -nick stops by gatsbys and finds tom there -tom is suspicious of what gatsby and daisy have -daisy and tom attend gatsby's parties -gatsby  finally feels happy once he kissed her

Gatsby chapter 5

-Gatsby keeps mentioning cutting the grass -When nick says to not bring tom daisy responds with"who's tom" -gatsby meets daisy for the first time in almost 5 years -gatsby invites daisy & nick over to his house -gatsby continues by showing off his personal belongings to daisy

Then nick has a conversation with a couple of people if they know anything about gatsby. Someone says he's killed a man & another says he was  a spy for the German. Someone also says that he's an oxford graduate. Then nick goes looking for gatsby & instead gatsby finds him. Once gatsby introduces himself he calls nick an old sport but then gets interrupted by a call from Chicago.then some guy tries driving but ends up crashing. Then nick said something about gatsby that his smile only comes in your life 4-5 times.

Chapter 3 gatsby notes

Fiction is the lie that tells the truth Displacement-a Character who's out of place Anachronism-a person who's out of time Quotation sometimes shows sarcasm If I was at the party I'd be looking around to try and greet gatsby. I'd try to meet and find what his interests are and how one can be so popular yet so unknown.

Gatsby notes 1/27

- dogs cost $10 - Toms a douche - Tom spoils myrtle - Myrtle acts above everybody else - Toms an alcoholic with problems - Mrs McKee is a racist -

Great Gatsby Remix Vol. 1

The story talks About a man named nick how he moved in ny and his home is on the west egg.he goes visiting his cousin daisy & her mans tom Buchanan. Toms a racist douche who is strong internally & externally. Then the author shows us that these rich unhappy people only care about themselves & are boring. We know cause daisy has talked about the butlers nose more than her actual baby. "I hope she'll be a fool that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool" That's what daisy says about her daughter. Also once nick leaves he sees gatsby for the first time & then he disappears into the dark water.

1/24/17 notes

- Toms a douchebag - Toms racist - The fifth guest is a women - All these people are insensitive, bored, racist, unhappy - I hope she'll be a fool that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little full -

Remix post

I wonder what kind of genres the future will study when they look back today. Like I think a new genre today is memes. They happen all over the internet and there's one for almost any event or anything with a significant cause. Like back then modernism saw the world as new and confusing. Today in date they use memes as a way to make others laugh or show what happened with a simple image with or without a caption. Some people might think this is a joke but I'm being a 100% serious . If you look at the definition of a genre it means a creative work that's unique to its time or place. Memes fall into that category, but I guess it all depends on who's perspective we're looking through. Who would've known realism, modernism, and naturilism could branch off into today's memes.

Great gatsby notes

-He defined himself by writing -He  wrote the book for pleasure -he was an alcoholic but hard worker -took 3 years to write the great gatsby -he wrote the book for the youth not for school -epigraph-the quote that comes in beginning of a chapter or book and gives us a clue of what's to come -what keeps pulling gatsby? -the idea of marriage began as property -2 old friends whom I scarcely knew -tom Buchanan was a manly strong guy even on the inside

Everything's a remix

-Remix started in hip hop -Anybody can remix anything -Remix-arrangement and transformation of samples -A transformation consists of making something new or editing -Everything out today is a remix because someone borrowed the idea and added their own sauce to it -when people think of creativity they imagine a light bulb above their head -for example Thomas Edison did not create the light bulb he added his own sauce and made it better -Ideas are a property I honestly think it's pretty cool how almost everything is an idea and people adding their sauce to it and making it unique. Like they say imitation is a form of flattery.

1/18/17 Notes

Genre- a category of creative work that is unique to a time or place Writers write because something is happening in the world Naturalist fiction was characterized by a deterministic ethos. Realism- depicted characters as psychologically complex Modernism- they saw the world as new and confusing

Music as literature

Music is literature. The difference between a rap song, an opera, a poem, and a novel is probably the audience towards who the artist/author is targeting. They all are literature because the author of it wrote it and it's art. They're basically the same thing it's just different ways to express yourself and they all help you paint a picture in your head and speak to you some way.

Genesis the background of my BQ

Well it started when you asked us what you do you wanna know ? So many thoughts came to mind but this one stood out because the curiosity was killing me. Then I thought who organized the alphabet in alphabetical order? It's kind of not a serious big question but I truly wanted to know. The problem I'm having is finding the true origin of the alphabet but there's different answers. Due to letters being added and being lost. Most theories point to Egyptian hieroglyphics because they started it and then everybody kept adding there own letters and making I there own language. My big question matters to me because I want to know the origin of what's being taught in kindergarten all over America. Also it's like a pretty cool thing to know like not many people would know who organized the alphabet in alphabetical order. It should matter to the world to because they should know the origin how their alphabet was adapted from the original hieroglyphics.
