-Gatsby keeps mentioning cutting the grass
-When nick says to not bring tom daisy responds with"who's tom"
-gatsby meets daisy for the first time in almost 5 years
-gatsby invites daisy & nick over to his house
-gatsby continues by showing off his personal belongings to daisy

The difference in tone for Clarisse and montag is completely different due to them standing out to everyone else in society. It's noticeable when the first scene is montag burning books but he's like pretending to be happy doing his job.  Another example would be when Clarisse talks about how she's treated by other kids and how society looks at her. Montag wants to be like Clarisse and have a caring family like hers.  The first scene showed to us by Bradbury is montag burning books in a society where firemen start fires and burn books. This paints a dark society Image in our mind. Montag shows a sign of what's to come in the first scene where he's burning a book happy. tone-the tone of this story is that he had a sign of hope Even when he was In prison. He taught himself how to read and also how to write which is showing his will to change into a better person. Mood- the mood of this story is depressing because it shows us that most people in prison have dreams when they first get in but after a while they just die now they're just a person with no soul or emotion Theme- I believe the theme of the story is that everyone deserves a second chance. If it wasn't for prison changing baca's life he would of never taught himself how to read or about poetry. I think this shows that no matter your past there's always room for change. Devices- some devices used in this story were similes and metaphors. One example is they used common sense like scholars.
